Unable to get SimpleHomeNet Utility to run

Postby highcountryrider » Thu Apr 24, 2014 8:49 pm

I downloaded SHNU form sourceforge (2.0). I am able to launch SDM3. When I
try to launch SimpleHomeNet Utility Suite, I get "The application failed to initialize
properly (0xc0000135)".

I have a PLM connected to the serial port, and another connected to an EZIO8SA.

I'm much more familiar with Mac OS than Windows.

What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for any help.

XP, SP 2,

SDM3 is used with the very old PLC. Not used with a PLM. Enter the port number of the serial port (probably 1).

The first screen of the Utility should display. The COM port: input field is where the Serial port number is entered.

If the first screen will not display perhaps the download was not successful. Can you post the all the messages that are displayed.

Did you pick the PLM interface choice on the first screen?
If SDM3 is starting. It would indicate the older PLC interface was chosen.

The application never opens. All I get is:
"The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135) Click on OK to terminate the application"
The only button offered is OK.
Windows kills the app.

The Simplehomenet utility on Soundforge is not the the latest. It is revision 2.0
You may want to try the one on the Smartenit downloads page.
http://www.simplehomenet.com/support.as ... pDownloads It is version 2.03a.

I didn't see a list of any other software needed to be on the computer. For the SHN Utility to run.

Ok, did that, and downloaded .NET, which was apparently not installed with XP.

Now I'm getting:
.Net Framework Initialization Error
"Unable to find a version of the runtime to run this application."

when I double click on the SHUS. :|

Fixed. Apparently I needed .NET 3.5.

I am glad you got the utility running.
Net Framework was my suspicion as it is used for a few of my other programs and I had it installed already.
