How about a power strip with 6 or 8 different insteon addresses so you can plug in and program christmas light shows?

What module are you using to control the surge strips?

How it works would be determined by the bulb type and module type. Should be a On/Off relay type not a dimmer.
Some Insteon Modules have a Local Control Sensing voltage on their outputs. That can cause some loads like LEDs to always glow dimly when Off.

How many would be determined by the current they draw of the bulbs. Added together to determine the load current/wattage.

Some power strips have surge and noise suppression features. Some absorb Insteon power line signals as noise. That can sometimes lead to a can turn On but not Off situation. Because Off to On the command gets there but On to Off gets absorbed. May not be as much of an issue with Dual Band Insteon as the Insteon RF command would still reach it. If in RF distance is close enough to another Dual Band module.
